Celebrates investments from the Great American Outdoors Act.
The Department of the Interior announced key improvements to infrastructure in North Dakota on Tuesday. Deputy Secretary Tommy Beaudreau visited the state on Monday and Tuesday to tour the Snake Creek Pumping Plant and Theodore Roosevelt National Park. During his visit, he promoted the infrastructure improvements brought about by the Great American Outdoors Act, the bipartisan bill passed by Congress last year.
Theodore Roosevelt National Park received a total of $38.3 million to repair areas of roadway, build better drainage systems, and complete resurfacing of roadways along the South Unit’s scenic loop drive which has been closed to traffic since 2019. During his visit to the pumping station, Deputy Secretary Beaudreau expressed the importance of the site to maintain water levels at several recreational lakes in the region.
